“The Different Same” is a song that uses both acoustic embedding and text to shift the commonly persistent human centered perspective towards a multispecies view on the universe, that focuses on the fact that regardless of how different all the existing species and processes might be, they all strive for continuity, change and life. Acoustically this is implemented by framing the song with the chirping of birds in a European forest in the beginning; next, I «join» their singing with my song, which is then «washed away» just like every other acoustic wave by an audio sample of sea waves.
